Stripe Invoicing

Stripe Invoicing is a 0nTask feature that turns a project’s finished tasks into an invoice on your own Stripe account. You connect Stripe once, pick a project, the timed tasks become line items at your hourly rate, and Stripe emails the invoice with a hosted payment page. When it is paid, 0nTask shows it paid.

Where this actually stands

The invoicing flow is built and deployed. It runs on the 0n Stripe App, which is in Stripe’s publishing queue; until Stripe approves it, the Connect button reads “being set up”. Every account gets it the moment the app is live — no update on your side.

The problem

Why this exists

The work is tracked in one tool and billed from another, so invoicing waits until someone has an hour to reconcile the two. That hour slips a week, the invoice goes out late, and the cash arrives later still. The information needed to bill — what was done, for whom, how long it took — was already in the task list the whole time.

Step by step

How it works

Three steps the first time, two every time after. Nothing is charged without Stripe’s own invoice flow — your customer pays on a page Stripe hosts.

1

Connect your Stripe

Apps → Stripe → Connect. You sign in to Stripe, approve the 0n app once, and land back in 0nTask. Your keys never touch 0nTask; Stripe issues the app its own scoped access, which you can revoke from your Stripe dashboard at any time.

2

Pick the project

Choose a project. Its completed tasks — with the time logged on them — become line items at your hourly rate. Edit, add or drop any line before it goes out.

3

Send

Stripe creates the customer if it is new, finalizes the invoice, emails it, and hosts the payment page. The invoice appears in 0nTask with its number and a link, and flips to paid when the money lands.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Stripe account?

Yes — your own. 0nTask never holds your money. You connect your Stripe account with one click and every invoice is a normal Stripe invoice on it, with Stripe’s receipts, reminders and payment methods.

How does 0nTask get access to my Stripe?

Through the 0n Stripe App using OAuth. You approve a short list of permissions on Stripe’s own screen; 0nTask receives scoped access tokens and never sees your secret keys. Uninstalling the app in your Stripe dashboard revokes access immediately.

Can I edit the invoice before it goes out?

Yes. Every line — description, quantity, amount — is editable, and you can add lines that are not tasks. The due date and a memo are yours to set too.

What happens when the client pays?

Stripe tells 0nTask and the invoice shows as paid in the same list you sent it from. Nothing to reconcile.

Which plans include invoicing?

Pro and Command. Solo can track the work; billing it needs a connected Stripe account, which lives on the Apps screen available from Pro.
